The RoughBot is a work in progress. The intention is to build a cheap robot with off-the-shelf components. Be sure to check out the ongoing blog about how we are using RoughBot in lessons.

Easy to build

The simplest programmable robot can uses Arduino as its brain, and your imagination for its body. Students just plug in the components: no soldering required!

Once you have the basic electronics, the chassis is anything you have to hand. A chocolate box. Cardboard and sticky-tape. Or spend the time to design and 3D-print a body for a particular application.

The possibilities are endless.

Easy to program

Using the Arduino programming environment, students get an introduction to functional programming.
